My Desire

I was immediately drawn to the, "My Desire" track more so than any other song on the new list. The mood it brings, and the soul it unleashes is contagious. I listened to it over and over and I couldn't stop thinking about dolphins and the ocean. This song speaks about helping people and doing good to the world. I always saw dolphins as an animal protector, to me they exemplify those qualities the song expresses. And the ocean has that healing quality that can truly help people. So for this project, i went to the beach and found drift wood and pieced them together to make a dolphin protector. All made from the most powerful and uplifting thing to me on the planet, the ocean.

You are My Sunshine

When I first listened to the words for you are my sunshine, I felt it was a song about rejection. This other person he put so much love and desperate attention towards, left him and not longer wants to be with him. This took me way back to a memory I have in middle school where I finally got the courage to go up to a girl who was a few years older, and back when your in middle school that feels like a hugggge gap. Well, I was deep in middle school love with this girl, and so far, my experience with girls was based off of movies. So I decided to go get her a flower and walked up to her after school right before graduation. Sadly, this wasn't not a happy ending. I got shot down quick and easy. She was very nice, she giggled and took the flower, however I didn't gallop away into the sunset with her on a horse like I imagined. She was my middle school sunshine and she left me to go do bigger and better things in high school. For this week I based my project on her and I drew that flower that i gave her. The paper quality and lack of color represents the loss of my sunshine girl.

Down In The Valley

For down in the valley, my initial vision while listening to the song was a lone man dreaming of an unreachable or lost girl. This instantly resonated easily for me. I catch myself day dreaming the same sort of things too many times to count. When I grew up I always had a dream catcher by my bed and that image was the first thing I thought of. I always loved the idea of dream catchers and my father is a quarter native american. I made my own sort of dream catcher for the project this week, using materials that come from my home and represent happiness for me.

first song

https://soundcloud.com/tim-brochier

This is my friends music that I based my first project on. The song in particular that I focused on was "the way to watch a whale". I grew up always listening and sining along to his music and he is one of my favorite musicians to listen to. The song speaks about, in the strait forward way to interpret,  on how with all the new technology today you forget the best way to watch a whale is on the beach with your own eyes. Back to the natural roots.
